WAIVER 

All persons using the sauna do so at their own risk by entering our sauna you are agreeing to our terms of use thus agreeing to the waiver. If you have any reservations regarding sauna use, such as medical conditions, underlying health problems, the use of prescription drugs, it is essential that you consult your GP before making a booking.

Alcohol, drugs and nudity are not permitted in the sauna. "NORTH WALES SAUNA" operators reserve the right to refuse admission to intoxicated persons or for any other reason that may be deemed a health & safety risk. Refunds will not be offered to anyone refused admission.

Disclaimer

Use of the sauna is done so at your own risk. We ask that you contact your GP if at all in doubt about safely using the sauna.

If any of the below apply to you (please note, this is not a comprehensive list) we advise you to seek your GP’s advice: -

  • If you're pregnant
  • If you've had a heart attack or stroke
  • If you're taking any medications
  • If you have cardiovascular conditions and/or problems
  • You have epilepsy
  • You have asthma or breathing conditions
  • High or low blood pressure
  • If you have arterial disease
  • If you have joint or muscle injury

The sauna is wood-fired and is extremely hot. Do not touch the stove, stove door, flu chimney, sauna rocks, or surrounding fire guards, and only as instructed to pour water onto the stones.

When pouring water on the rocks, start from the point furthest away from you to prevent scalding and create a crescent moon over the rocks.

Children of 16 years and under are not permitted to use the Sauna, unless supervised by a responsible parent/guardian

A waiver/terms and conditions must state the relationship between the parent/guardian and the minor and is signed by them accordingly – see below.

No under 16’s allowed in Ice baths/Plunge Pool/Cold showers.

Alcohol and smoking are not permitted in or around the sauna. 

Any hanging jewellery should be removed before entering the sauna to prevent burning.

Sauna Etiquette: What to Know Before You Sweat

Whether you're a seasoned spa-goer or a first-time visitor, understanding proper sauna etiquette is key to a relaxing experience for everyone. Here are a few essential tips:

1. Shower First
Always rinse off before entering the sauna. This keeps the space clean and respectful for others.

2. Towel Up
Sit or lie on a towel to keep sweat off the benches. It’s more hygienic and shows good manners.

 

3. Keep It Quiet
Many people use the sauna to unwind in peace. Speak softly to maintain a calm atmosphere,  some of the best conversations and friendships are created in the sauna.

4. Respect Time Limits
Stay mindful of how long you stay—10 to 15 minutes is usually enough. Always remove your towel when leaving the sauna, it's good to move around the sauna not everyone likes to stay in the hot spot.

5. No Phones or Gadgets
Saunas are screen-free zones. Disconnect and enjoy the heat without distractions.

6. Ask Before Adding Steam
Never dump water on the rocks without checking. Some people prefer a dry sauna, so always be polite and ask others before creating steam.

7. Wash Your Feet Before Entering
Always use the water bucket outside to rinse your feet before stepping into the sauna. It helps keep the space clean for everyone.

8. No Oils on the Rocks
Do not pour essential oils or any substances directly on the sauna rocks. This can damage the stove and may cause harmful fumes or splashing, posing a danger to other bathers.

9. Swimwear Required – No Nudity
We are a textile sauna. Suitable bathing clothes—such as swimwear—must be worn at all times. Nudity is not permitted under any circumstances.

10. Keep Access Points Clear
Do not block the doorway or any access routes. Always leave space for others to enter or exit safely and swiftly if needed.

11. Enter and Exit Safely
Take care when entering or leaving the sauna, especially if it's hot or dimly lit. Never touch the stove or rocks—doing so can result in serious burns.

Contact Lenses and Glasses

Please remove contact lenses and glasses before using the sauna.

Sauna Stove

The stove is strictly for use by NORTHWALES SAUNA staff only. At no time can you touch the stove, put logs in the fire, open and close the door or move the stove vents. Please ask the sauna operator and they will do this for you if needed.

Sea Swimming + Lake + River

All individuals entering the sea, or cold water locations pools lakes and rivers do so at their own risk. It is your responsibility to assess the weather and sea conditions, to ensure that you are a capable swimmer and can handle being exposed to the cold temperatures and varying conditions of the sea. Be aware there is no lifeguard on duty on any of our location Beaches.

  • Please Do Not bring your own products and oils, for health and safety reasons, these can not be used in our Saunas, as they may react to the heat and release toxins, or create slippery surfaces. Our onsite treatments have been approved for in-Sauna use.

If you are making a booking on behalf of a group, it is your responsibility to make all users aware of the terms and conditions and to practice safe sauna use, as well as making others aware of what to bring and other useful information.
